Depending on the boat, and the toughness of the owner, the season can be pushed to 7 or 8 months. That said, the best boating runs for 3 months from July to September.J P Haliburtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02757069923272989305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5657302425323869654.post-14414765851023250522015-03-05T12:43:10.697-03:302015-03-05T12:43:10.697-03:30Peter, I came across your blog yesterday by chance...Peter, I came across your blog yesterday by chance and continued reading from start to end last night :). I admire your persistence in having a boat & sailing with a such short season. And I was sure that I am the one with too short of season here in Montreal :)<br />regarding the mast raising/lowering, I implemented a very good and simple setup on my Seafarer 24, it should work on your boat as well. My boat had a heavier mast and I did not have any problems with it for all the years I had that boat. I will try to find some pictures of it and write something about it so I can send it to you. Send me an email to zorang at gmail dot com so I would get your email. My pole was built from ideas borrowed from other people. And, thanks for commenting. I've got to lower Sprite's mast this spring as the mast step is sagging. A common problem on the Seawych.Mark The Skint Sailorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04892877003107509621noreply@blogger.com
